Contessa-Nettel Sonnar Film Holder

A newly manufactured replacement holder with a carbon-fibre dark slide, developed for the Contessa-Nettel Sonnar and modern 9x12 cm sheet film.

Field testing. The holder design is essentially complete and physical fit is confirmed on a real Contessa-Nettel Sonnar. Real film tests are now checking film-plane position, handling and light-tightness before ordering opens.

Made around the real camera

This holder is developed around an actual Contessa-Nettel Sonnar rather than inferred from the 9x12 format alone. The camera's back interface, seating geometry and dark-slide access determine the holder geometry.

The aim is to make the camera practical to use with currently available 9x12 cm sheet film without altering the camera itself.

Design status

The holder geometry and construction are essentially complete, with physical fit confirmed on the Contessa-Nettel Sonnar shown here.

Field testing

Real exposures are now being used to verify film-plane accuracy, dark-slide operation, light-tightness and day-to-day handling.

Launch information

Final price and lead time will be added after field testing and any resulting production refinements are complete.

Compatibility should not be inferred from format alone. Other Contessa-Nettel 9x12 cameras may use different cassette interfaces and will be listed separately once verified.
